We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work with a Chartered Building Services Consultancy in Carlisle. They are looking for a Junior or Engineer level Mechanical Design Engineer which would include an engineer who has spent time on the tools as a plumber or pipefitter who is keen to get into design, or a Mechanical Design Engineer with a HNC or degree who is looking to progress their career in Building Services Engineering design.

You will be working across a broad projects base of both new build and refurbishment projects, predominantly, the North West of England and local to Carlisle, Lancaster, and Preston. Projects will be based in the Education, Residential, Healthcare, and Industrial sector. You will be working on Hospitals, Student Accommodation, University Buildings, Council projects, Offices, and Defence projects. This will provide you with great experience across a variety of sectors. You will be exposed to the day-to-day duties of a Mechanical Design Engineer working with the Building Services Engineering sector and be working with other Senior engineers and a very experienced Associate who will enable your career to progress at a steady rate.

Ideally you will have ONC/HNC qualifications as a minimum. You will need to be enthusiastic about Mechanical Design, Sustainable technologies, Low Carbon Technology, Net Zero strategy and have a passion for bringing buildings to life whilst implementing these policies and strategies.

You will be exposed to Autocad, Revit, Hevacomp and TAS software as part of your development within this role. Knowledge of Autocad prior to joining would be advantageous.
