Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Assembly & Calibration: Assemble, test, and calibrate electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies according to documentation, achieving productivity and quality objectives, including fault diagnosis and repair independently.
  • Test Equipment Setup: Set up and calibrate final products using automated and semi-automated electronic and thermal test equipment, recording product test results electronically for calibration certificates creation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process, productivity, and quality improvements, utilizing the Line Stop process or by highlighting issues to Supervision.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report any defective equipment or items out of calibration, unsafe, or lacking calibration stickers to Supervision.
  • Documentation Management: Create/amend production documentation (e.g., Work Instructions/SOPs) and publish them according to company standards.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards, reporting all related issues and concerns.
  • Documentation Accuracy: Ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement projects and activities.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as required, without substantially changing the position's general character.

Experience and Skills:

  • Microscope Work & Fine Wiring: Proficient in working under a microscope and competent with ‘fine wiring’ using 34AWG gauge wire.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing small component assemblies.
  • Certification: IPC 610 Soldering certification.
  • Dexterity: Extremely dexterous, accustomed to working under a microscope in a small batch production environment.
  • Testing & Calibration: Experience with product test, configuration, and calibration processes, including the creation of quality documentation and calibration certificates.
  • Computer Literacy: Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Documentation: Ability to read drawings and SOPs to perform assembly tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Good communicator and effective member of a production team.
