Job Title: Handyman Finisher

Location: Birmingham University, Halls of Residence

Monday- Friday

7:30- 4:30

As a Handyman Finisher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the halls of residence are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for our students. You will be responsible for a variety of finishing tasks, including painting, plastering, carpentry, and minor repairs.

• Finishing Work: Perform high-quality finishing tasks, including painting, plastering, tiling, and carpentry to maintain and enhance the appearance of the accommodation facilities.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaks, repairing fixtures, and ensuring the overall functionality of the residence halls.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations and university policies.
• Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the halls to identify areas needing maintenance and finishing work.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team and other university staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Customer Service: Interact with students and staff professionally, addressing maintenance concerns promptly and courteously.

• Proven experience in a similar handyman or finishing role, preferably in a residential or accommodation setting.
• Strong skills in painting, plastering, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance requests outside regular working hours when necessary.
