Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys of building facades, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive surveys of building facades to assess their condition, identify defects, and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, including drawings, photographs, and technical specifications.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.
• Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials used in facade installations to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Provide technical advice and support to project teams throughout the design and construction phases.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules, and monitor progress against these benchmarks.
• Participate in site meetings and provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders.
• Conduct post-completion inspections and prepare final reports, including recommendations for future maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional membership with a recognised body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building surveying, with a focus on facades and external building envelopes being desirable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and methods, particularly related to facade systems.
• Proficient in using surveying instruments, software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), and other relevant tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
