£30,000 - £40,000 - Skelmersdale - Office Based


Duties & responsibilities: -
Key Tasks

  • Maintaining Purchase Ledger
  • Maintaining Sales Ledger
  • Preparation of month end journals
  • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
  • Preparation of Quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintenance of Bank Accounts and Cashflow within the group.
  • Manage credit card payment system.

General Role

  • Responsible for proactively building key relationships and acting as a business partner to several areas across the business, ensuring that there is transparency and a thorough understanding of the cost base.
  • Month end routines including commentary, analysis, accruals, prepayments & reconciliation for your areas of responsibility.
  • Budget preparation
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Nominal Ledger reconciliations
  • Ad hoc project work and analysis as required.
  • Communicate effectively both internally at all levels, and externally with customers.
  • Willingness to take ownership of problems and follow through to completion.

Knowledge, skills & experience required (Essential) : -

  • Good knowledge of financial skills to cover most of the required tasks.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy
  • Communicate effectively both internally at all levels, and externally with customers.
  • Willingness to take ownership of problems and follow through to completion.
  • Ability to work as part of team and off their own initiative.
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Positive outlook and highly motivated

Knowledge, skills & experience required (Desirable):

  • The candidate should be qualified to AAT or completed level 1 ACCA or CIMA and looking to complete their studies while working.
  • The candidate will have more than two-years relevant experience of all areas of finance and be familiar with assisting in preparation of accounts.
