About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in an EYFS Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) class in Finchley Central. You will be working closely with a young boy, aged 5, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He presents challenging behaviors, including screaming and difficulty taking directions, and has some emotional and personal care needs.

You'll be joining a nurturing environment with a great senior leadership team that ensures you have the support and resources you need to succeed. About the school: Located in a quiet suburban area away from the hustle and bustle, our school boasts a well-staffed ARP class with 20 students and ample support for the children. The provision is housed within a larger school, offering a supportive and inclusive environment. The school is equipped with excellent facilities, and there is a school car park available for staff use.

Application Requirements: 

• Experience working in EYFS settings.
• Patience, resilience, and a calm demeanor.
• Previous experience working with children with ASD and managing challenging behaviors.
• Ability to perform personal care duties.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide one-on-one support to the child, ensuring his emotional and academic needs are met.
• Assist with personal care, including toileting when the child becomes upset.
• Implement strategies to help manage the child's challenging behaviours.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to create a nurturing and structured environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to support the child's academic progress and emotional development.
