About Us:

CDM Engineering is working with a leading supplier of high-quality forklift trucks and related equipment, dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to our customers. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Parts Manager to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage our parts department, ensuring the efficient and effective supply of parts to meet customer needs.

Position Overview:

As a Parts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the parts department, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely availability of parts for forklift trucks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in parts management, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, storage, and distribution of parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries and requests for parts.
  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct parts for their needs.
  • Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of parts.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve favourable agreements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support parts department staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the parts department.
  • Sales support: Collaborate with the sales team to support parts sales initiatives and promotions.
  • Identify opportunities to increase parts sales and profitability.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on parts inventory, sales, and department performance.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in parts management, preferably within the forklift truck or automotive industry.
  • Strong organisational and inventory management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and standard office applications.
  • Knowledge of forklift truck parts and equipment is a plus.
