Responsibilities:

  • Manage a number of projects, monitoring project performance against timelines, resourcing, fees, and change control.
  • Work closely with clients, architects, and other engineering consultants to determine the best facade design outcomes.
  • Oversee senior and project engineers in the production of deliverables coordinated with other parties.
  • Ensure a high standard of work across the group, responsible for developing and delivering best practice guidance and internal processes.
  • Deliver training and knowledge sharing to junior staff.
  • Participate in internal R&D initiatives and oversee the production of technical notes.
  • Develop relationships with clients, architects, and collaborators.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in engineering, architecture, or materials science (preferably with a relevant postgraduate degree).
  • 8+ years of proven experience in facade design and detailing in a consulting capacity from concept stage through execution.
  • Proven experience on complex, technically demanding projects of the highest architectural quality.
  • Excellent design skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Leadership abilities in the engineering aspects of facades.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing design reports, presentations, and technical notes.
  • Proficiency in visual communication, covering sketches, drawings, and preferably 3D modeling.
  • Good working knowledge of BS/EN, CWCT, and relevant international standards.
  • Experience with off-site and on-site test methods (CWCT / AAMA).
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (CIBSE, ICE, IStructE).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability in the process, technical, and financial aspects of project management.
