Our client is seeking a professional, passionate, and committed individual to deliver the highest standards of grounds maintenance, creating world-class campus grounds and external facilities.

The role focuses on ensuring the long-term maintenance and sustainability goals of the Campus.

Job Description

As the Estate/Grounds Manager, you will play a pivotal role in promoting positive colleague experiences by overseeing the management of the Campus’s grounds and external facilities.

You will lead the design, installation, and maintenance of seasonal planting, trees, and shrubs, and manage the outdoor sports facilities and formal lawns.

Your responsibilities will include applying approved horticultural practices to landscaping and garden design, incorporating organic and permaculture practices, managing irrigation systems, weeding, pruning, planting, equipment maintenance, and preparing outdoor areas for seasonal changes.

Additionally, you will maintain and enhance standards within the Grade 2 listed Rose Garden.

In this role, you will share your expertise and demonstrate professionalism by serving as a teacher and coach to team members, colleagues, and guests, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing a professional, sustainable, and innovative grounds maintenance strategy for the campus
  • Preparing and maintaining all external areas in line with industry/environmental best practice and standards
  • Planning the day-to-day work programme for the Landscaping Team
  • Operating light and heavy equipment, including but not limited to tractor, mowers, rotavators, sprinklers and shredders, chainsaws, chippers
  • Allocating, maintaining, and securing of plant, tools and equipment ensuring as far as is possible that the right resources are available, and all equipment is correctly stored, maintained and serviced
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with key suppliers
  • Establishing and managing budgets for all aspects of work undertaken
  • Monitoring the use of consumables, spares, and materials and procure their replenishment, while managing the budget
