The ideal candidate will need to be committed to understanding and catering to the needs of all pupils that they work with.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with ALN pupils or vulnerable adults on a 1:1 or group basis
- Possess a good understanding of physical or sensory needs
- Provide support in a manner which facilitates the pupils' cognitive development, by removing barriers to learning
- Assisting with care and be well-versed to individual development plans
- Modelling positive behaviour and dealing with disruption according to school behaviour policy for ALN pupils
- Promote pupil inclusion throughout the school
- Promote independence
- Have a valid, enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to get one)
- Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
