About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and ensuring the financial stability of our educational institution. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who has a passion for finance and education.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Budget Preparation: Lead the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the leadership team and governors.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies, including statutory requirements.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Payroll Oversight: Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in financial processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the leadership team, governors, and external stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and relevant legislation.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
