We are seeking a committed and skilled Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant team starting in September!

Role Overview
As a Food Technology Teacher you will play a pivotal role in inspiring students to develop practical culinary skills, nutritional knowledge, and a passion for food preparation. You will deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons that emphasise both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience in food technology. Your expertise will empower students to explore creativity in cooking, understand food hygiene and safety, and prepare them for future careers in the culinary arts or related industries.

Key Responsibilities
• Curriculum Development: Design and deliver a stimulating and progressive food technology curriculum aligned with national standards and the school’s educational goals.
• Practical Learning: Facilitate practical cooking sessions and experiments that encourage students to apply their knowledge and skills in food preparation and nutrition.
• Nutritional Education: Educate students about the importance of balanced diets, healthy eating habits, and food sustainability.
• Safety and Hygiene: Ensure adherence to food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen environment.
• Assessment and Feedback: Assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development in food technology.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate food technology across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
• Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive.

Desired experience
• Proven experience teaching food technology at secondary school level.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of effective teaching methodologies and strategies for engaging students in practical learning.
