Our client is a leading manufacturing business based in Exeter and due to ongoing growth of the business they a seeking a Plant Engineer to become part of their team. This role is critical to ensure that the manufacturing equipment, buildings, and grounds are maintained and improved to meet the current and future demands of the business

Candidate background

• Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Controls or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant technical experience within an Engineering environment, however a development opportunity may be available
• Ability to identify and solve to root cause, repetitive reliability problems and write procedures
• Ability to collect and analyse overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on critical equipment

Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities           

• Creating project plans to support machine rearrangement, equipment installation, improvement, and cost reduction projects.
• Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and purchasing machines and equipment.
• Supervising sub-contractors, ensuring project implementation to time and cost whilst complying with all Company and H&S requirements.
• Identifying and implementing cost reduction and method improvement opportunities.
• Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement works, collating receipts and raising purchase requisitions.
• Carrying out plant engineering activities, with minimal supervision, across the site including building infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
• Providing technical expertise, including data analysis, planning and execution to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation for the site.
• Identifying and making improvements to the reliability of equipment to reduce reoccurring faults and downtime.
• Assisting Maintenance undertaking fault finding across the plant and on the equipment.
• Implementing and driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment.
• Creation and maintenance of technical files for new and existing equipment.
