Housing Officer (Temp role)
Southside of Edinburgh based | office-based role initially with potential for hybrid as the contract progresses
Flexibility on Hours to be worked | client will consider from Part-Time (21 hours) up to Full-Time (35 hours) per week | Monday to Friday only
Temp role for a minimum of 4 weeks | could potentially go as long as 3 months
Pay rate up to £22.00 per hour depending on skills & relevant experience

Search Consultancy are currently working with an Edinburgh based client in the housing services sector to recruit an experienced Housing Officer who will be responsible for providing an efficient & effective front-line Housing service, offering personalised solutions and excellent customer service to tenants.

Duties involved in this role will include:
* Delivery of high quality customer focused housing management services in line with regulatory requirements and company objectives
* Supporting the management and development of the housing team including managing & coaching to ensure the best possible service delivery
* Monitor and support the performance of onsite colleagues, escalating concerns should they arise
* Engagement in regular and constructive meetings with the team
* Act as a positive role model within your department and wider organisation, taking advantage of all opportunities to support the development of colleagues
* Ensure minimal income loss through the effective management of rent and service charges, including the management of rent arrears & voids
* Complaints process management including those relating to Anti-Social Behaviour
* Promoting & supporting the inclusion of tenant participation, welfare rights and digital engagement opportunities
* Liaising closely with tenants and on site staff to agree the usage of the common area budgets, ensuring value for money is achieved
* Identify vulnerable tenants, liaising with and supporting appropriate referrals
* Liaising with various external stakeholders including Local Authority Housing Benefit teams, solicitors, doctors, social work and health boards as required
* Various other housing management & administrative tasks as required

In order to be considered for this role your skills and experience should include:
* Previous relevant experience in a Housing Officer or Housing Management capacity within a Housing Association, Local Authority, Social Housing or Tenancy Management setting - this experience is ESSENTIAL
* Candidates with a Housing Qualification (CIH or equivalent) would be preferred, although this is not essential
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent organisation & time management skills, with the ability to prioritise & complete a busy workload effectively
* Solid IT Skills including the full MS Office suite
