Fabrication Supervisor required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Norway.

Responsibilities

  • Review the contractor's procedures ITP, WPS, PQP, NDE and coating in order to follow up in Contractors workshop.
  • Review of Employers Spot check of workshop drawings and Contractors red-line mark up.
  • Support Fabrication Mgr. in participation in witness -, hold points inspection and FAT as agreed in the Contractors ITP.
  • Provide practical input to and follow up on implementation of fabrication relevant communication; Technical Queries (TQ), Communication notes (CN).
  • Raise and give input to non-conformities (NC).
  • Spot check of Contractors material inspection.
  • Verification of welders certification, preparation and use of WPS by performing spot check.
  • Spot check of Contractors NDT of welding performance, NDT equipment and NDT reporting.
  • Verification of NDT operators certification by spot check.
  • Final inspections of steel work before surface treatment / preparation incl Contractors documentation.
  • Dimensional checks of structure incl. check of position, dim. of profiles and tolerances.
  • Spot check of coating: coating facilities, Inspection during coating process, paint reports and cathodic protection.
  • Support DE HSE with general supervision of HSE on site.
  • Review to the Contractors as-built documentation.

Requirements

  • CSWIP 3.2 , IWI, IWE or welding inspection equivalent.
  • NACE 2, ICORR 2 or FROSIO Level 2 coating inspection.
  • Relevant work experience in fabrication field.
  • 3+years experience in the offshore wind industry.
  • Strong understanding of the fabrication process and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to fabrication in the specific industry.
  • Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are crucial for documenting inspection results and communicating with production teams.
  • Ability to communicate issues or defects clearly and work collaboratively with other departments to address concerns.
  • Ability to analyze problems, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to ensure the quality of the fabricated products.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Valid EU working rights.
