Responsibilities 
  1. To teach an agreed SfL programme of study, at least 10hrs + 5 hrs prep (FTE), that utilises a variety of approaches that maximises learners’ achievement and success. This will be reviewed depending on Service needs and demands.
  2. To negotiate and agree learning outcomes, then monitor, assess, review and record learners progress and achievement.
  3. To provide appropriate pre-course, on course information, advice and assessment to support learners progress and identify potential next steps.
  4. To ensure learners are correctly enrolled and report their attendance, progress and achievement.
  5. To ensure that any approved visitor/s, present in the classroom or service buildings, complies with the policies of the service.
  6. To carry out Observation of Teaching, Learning & Assessment including Learning Walks and Action Plan follow up and complete the associated reports and follow up with issues of identified poor performance.
  7. To conduct IQA and standardisation activities as required by the Programme Manager.
  8. Ensure that ESOL and Literacy needs are identified and are being developed and that flexible learning & inclusion of digital skills are being used to enhance and facilitate in-classroom and online learning.


Requirements 
  • Comprehensive experience and understanding of adult learning, including experience of Ofsted inspection and quality frameworks.
  • Experience and understanding of how to manage a team and develop staff in an era of change.
  • Wide range of experience of working with adults who are not engaging in learning.
  • Successful track-record of curriculum planning and delivery within local and national priorities.
  • Minimum of four years ‘teaching or training experience’ in Adult Learning.
  • Experience of implementing effective quality assurance and quality control frameworks e.g., Awarding Body, in an education/training environment.
  • Experience of using management information systems and other Service intelligence to inform planning, monitor performance in year, resulting in actions being taken to ensure improvements are made.


Contract 
  • Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract (Full time role with potential to move to a perm position)
  • PAYE via Umbrella 
  • Inside IR35
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Some non-teaching time may be worked remotely)
