Overview:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Lecturer in Agriculture, specialising in Precision Crop Technology, to join our dynamic Higher Education team. Our mission is to produce graduates who contribute significantly to their professions and communities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Assessment: Design, develop, and deliver teaching materials and student-centered learning for Precision Crop Technology modules. Conduct regular assessments, provide feedback, and support student progression.
  • Program Leadership: Manage learning programs, including lesson preparation, marking, and examinations. Act as a Program Leader where appropriate.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in Quality Assurance processes, maintaining high standards in curriculum delivery and assessment.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay updated with industry trends, maintaining links with industry and curriculum development. Involvement in student educational visits and industry placements.
  • Student Support: Provide appropriate levels of support, managing student morale and discipline to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Marketing and Recruitment: Contribute to marketing activities and promotional events, offering guidance to prospective students.
  • Technology Integration: Embrace and implement new learning technologies within teaching practices.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Agriculture-related field.
  • Industry experience in Agriculture, particularly in Precision Crop Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of land-based industries and practical agricultural skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to form appropriate relationships with young people.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current in the field.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Teaching qualification (support available for obtaining one).
  • Associated competency tickets (e.g., forklift, PA 1).
  • Experience in curriculum development and programme management.
