As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the science department, ensuring that both teachers and students have the resources and equipment necessary for outstanding science education. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is dedicated, organised, and enthusiastic about fostering a love for science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons, ensuring all apparatus and resources are ready for practical sessions.
  • Assist teachers and students during practical experiments, providing technical support and guidance to ensure safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Maintain and manage laboratory stock, including the ordering, safe storage, and inventory of chemicals and supplies.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, conducting regular checks and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Support the development of new and innovative practical science activities and experiments to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assist with the organisation and supervision of science-based extracurricular activities and events.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in an educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of laboratory equipment and scientific principles.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
  • A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
