Salary/Rate:
£75,000 - £85,000/annum
Our client is a privately owned international organisation operating within the FMCG/Retail sector. They are an interesting business with major operations across the world. As a result of an internal promotion, they are now seeking to appoint an ambitious qualified individual to this key position.

As the business continues to evolve and become more adaptive and responsive to trends in the marketplace, the Group is seeking to appoint an energetic and dynamic fully qualified and technically strong individual to manage the Group Reporting and Treasury activities. Applications are welcomed from individuals qualified in the field of accounting or Treasury; however, experience in Group accounting and consolidation activities is a necessary requirement for this role.

This key role within the Group Finance team will:
  • manage consolidation of monthly and annual accounting and reporting processes as well as budgetary cycles
  • monitor capital structures for the group, recommending corrective actions where relevant
  • maintain a global control environment and align with supporting policies (developing policy notes where necessary)
  • take a lead role in enhancing and automating consolidation and treasury processes
  • support statutory accounting and tax compliance (localised Finance teams manage these processes but Group oversees/supports)
  • support the business on ad-hoc activities as required (CSRD and sustainability management are likely areas to address in 2024/25)

Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, this role will form strong relationships with the Group Financial Accountant and Corporate Finance Manager with exposure to the Group CFO and Parent group senior management. The Group Finance Team operates as a flexible unit, therefore an individual who holds both the technical acumen to scrutinise and problem-solve challenges but is also prepared to take a hands-on approach is key. Given the breadth of this role, the candidate has the opportunity to work cross-functionally and will be liaising with global Finance Directors and Finance department heads frequently. Candidates should be comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders in a range of seniority/experience levels, with exposure up to CFO/CEO level.

Agility and accountability are key behaviours for the Group, and the potential candidate should be comfortable balancing a controlled compliance environment within a dynamic, growth-focused business appetite. Enhancement and automation of the Group’s Treasury activities (primarily cashflow, debt and FX management) is a focus project for the team; therefore, Treasury system implementation experience is highly attractive.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fully qualified Accountant/Treasurer (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ACT)
  • Previous industry experience preferred but strong practice background considered
  • Strong understanding of IFRS with clear demonstrable experience in group consolidation processes
  • Confident operating in an international financial control environment
  • Experience in Treasury Management and/or tax accounting, compliance or strategy
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, controls and processes: process design/system implementation experience highly attractive
  • Strong IT literacy, adaptability to a variety of ERP/Financial systems and a high level of Excel proficiency
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Highly curious with drive and energy to manage process and seek continuous improvement
  • Able to see the big picture, but equally, the ability to be thorough and give sufficient
attention to detail
  • Good communicator with the confidence to have constructive, challenging discussions
  • Well organised and pro-active
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and ownership
  • Creative problem solver with perseverance in the face of obstacles

In return my client offers a highly competitive salary, and a good benefits package. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop their career in a great environment surrounded by talented colleagues.
