Waites Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an Estimator who has experience in insurance/reinstatement works for a client based in london. This role is a permanent positition which is HOME WORKING but will require travel to sites predominantly in London and the Home Counties.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibility for setting prices, monitoring costs and assigning budgets on tenders ensuring minimum margin requirements are maintained and profits are maximised without compromising on quality;
Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved and tender complexity;
Produce and review costed scopes of work for smallto-medium size untendered projects using a template price list and knowledge of market level pricing;
Assist in tracking live project costs and variations against budget, producing reports when requested;
Prepare interim valuations;
Design, record and implement new pricing and scoping processes to improve quality, increase profitability, and reduce risk;
Act as a reference point to staff for all pricing, costing and scoping issues;
Assist in the training and guidance of internal and external estimators when requested;
Build/Maintain pricing templates and tools to assist in competitive pricing and accurate scoping;
Research material and labour costs to ensure accurate and fair pricing at all times;
Analyse and understand the reasons for lost opportunities due to pricing/scoping, and adapting tools and processes to maximise the likelihood of future successes
Assist in the handling of customer complaints or problems on site requiring technical or financial expertise when requested;
Maintain company price list;
Attend projects sites as and when required to effectively carry out the role;
Assist in tracking invoicing and cash flow, and prioritise workload to assist in achieving monthly financial targets;
Undertaken mandatory training to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company policy;
Carrying out ad hoc tasks as required to support and further the interests of the business.
Requirements and qualifications

What is the acceptable performance expected of the employee in this role?
Training
- ELearning – complete at least 12 e-learning courses via My-Task per annum, with no less than one per month until 12 have been completed.
Administration and time management
- Ensure QB is kept up to date with prices entered into QB as soon as they are provided on untendered projects and tendered projects that have been uploaded to the system; no figures to be given by Teams, phone or email unless QB immediately reflected to match (ideally before figures given);
- Ensure emails are acknowledged within 2 hours and all sent and received emails are filed within the relevant shared drive Outlook folders on the day they are received or sent;
- Hours of work 95 with one-hour lunch break taken between 12 and 2, any amendment to be agreed with the Managing Director;
- Tender documentation to be reviewed promptly (within 2 working days of receipt) to identify any items requiring external quotations to be sourced, concerns or queries to be raised with the contract administrator / client;
- Tenders returned at least 5 working days prior to deadline for internal review unless agreed otherwise with the Managing Director;
- Communications with clients are recorded appropriately either by telephone call summary or screenshots downloaded when WhatsApp or text messages received, saved in relevant project folders on the same day;
- Download and save photos and documentation taken/created yourself or received from an external source to the relevant shared folders on the day they are taken/created/received;
Finance
- Tender / project margins to be no less than 20% on any project after deduction of any commissions owed. Lower margins to be prior agreed with the Managing Director;
- Review invoicing tracker at least once a week and prioritise workload accordingly to assist in achieving monthly financial targets.
