Waites Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an Contracts Manager who has experience in insurance/reinstatement works for a client based in london. This role is a permanent positition which is HOME WORKING but will require travel to sites predominantly in London and the Home Counties. 

Working as a Contracts Manager, your responsibilities include collaborating closely with all project stakeholders to execute projects as flawlessly as possible. This includes liaising with clients, managing internal and external resources, agreeing realistic timeframes and monitoring budgets. You will perform various coordinating tasks such as schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties such as collating and maintaining project documentation and handling cost queries.

You are required to ensure work is completed on time and in budget, all parties are kept regularly updated, and all health and safety requirements are met insofar as My Client are responsible for any given project that you are overseeing.

You should be a strong communicator, exceptionally well organised, committed to high standards and able to work under pressure. 

As most of the projects my Client deal with are related to property insurance claims, you should have a good understanding of property insurance and the necessary information required to progress a claim, be able to interpret policy wording correctly and assist loss assessors in negotiating a fair settlement that includes all and only the items that the policyholder is entitled to receive.

You will be managing jobs involving a wide range of construction trades, from underpinning and groundworks to decontamination cleaning and plastering, roofing and scaffolding to bathroom and kitchen installation.

DUTIES

  • Coordinate building projects effectively to ensure efficiency, quality of work and profitability is upheld.
  • Organise third-party and internal resources to obtain information required to progress a project.
  • Review schedules of work to check no items are incorrectly included or omitted.
  • Keep customers regularly updated with the status of their job and resolve any concerns promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Process work chronologically and/or in order of priority.
  • Foster positive relationships with all relevant parties to ensure the smooth running of each job.
  • Keep project management systems updated in a detailed, relevant and timely manner.
  • Liaise with colleagues and contractors to determine the correct cost levels for each job.
  • Ensure all jobs are kept within budget and records concerning costs are accurate at all times.
  • Efficiently identify potential problems uncovered as work progresses, report to all relevant parties and ensure variations to the scope of works are accurately recorded.
  • Fully brief contractors for each job so they know exactly how works should be managed, what works are involved, any amendments to the contract, etc.
  • Maintain daily contact with colleagues and contractors to ensure that each job is carried out to the required standard and on time.
  • Check that all health and safety requirements are met for each project in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Organise invoicing of payments owed by relevant parties promptly when due.
  • Attend training from time to time.
  • Act as a referral point to less experienced staff.
