This is an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planning Manager in the FMCG industry. This is a vital role and one which will focus on enhancing forecast accuracy, delivering premium customer service to customers and driving strategic planning.

Description

Demand Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage demand forecasts for all product lines using statistical methods and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to incorporate promotional plans, product launches, and market trends into the demand plan.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Implement inventory management best practices and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):

  • Lead the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between supply chain capabilities and business objectives.
  • Facilitate regular S&OP meetings with cross-functional teams to review demand forecasts, supply plans, and inventory status.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant information to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on demand planning metrics, inventory status, and forecast accuracy to senior management.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient fulfilment of customer orders.
  • Communicate demand plans and changes effectively across all relevant departments to ensure alignment and coordination.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance demand planning processes, tools, and systems.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in demand planning and supply chain management.

System Management:

  • Maintain and optimise demand planning software and tools to support accurate forecasting and planning.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within demand planning systems.

Profile

A successful Demand Planning Manager will have:

  • Degree education and relevant qualifications (desirable)
  • Proven experience in demand planning / forecasting, and inventory management within FMCG manufacturing or the retail industry
  • Team management skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the S&OP or IBP process within a manufacturing environment and ability to apply concepts
  • Good communication and presentation skills across all levels of the business, both verbal and written
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP processes, BI, dashboard creation and advanced Excel
  • Data analysis - proven track record in being able to analyse data, draw meaningful conclusions and implement change
  • Self-starter with a continuous drive to develop personal knowledge
