Within Care and Rehabilitation Services, the philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. A category 'B' training prison situated in the village of Willoughby, near Rugby in Warwickshire, holding approximately 664 sentenced male adults.


We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Domestic Cleaner, who can work using their own initiative or as part of a team to join responsible to the Soft Service Manager.

You must conform to all COSHH regulations and risk assessments as per training provided. Your duties are to ensure specified areas are cleaned and are hygienic in line with contract expectations and standards at all times. 

Key Responsibilities - Cleaner

• Ensure that you are familiar with the contract cleaning specification and adhere to it.
• Ensure that specific areas are cleaned at a stated time so we do not impact on the operational needs of the business.
• Report any building related faults to the FM helpdesk.
• Review and maintain stock levels of cleaning consumables in cleaning cupboards.
• Ensure all cleaning cupboards and areas we occupy are kept clean and consumables stored in a safe legal manner.
• Maintain COSHH documents in suitable locations to support the task and use and storage of chemicals.
• To check cleaning equipment is safe before use and ensure you are trained and competent to use it safely.
• Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner & follow the applicable safe systems of work for the role.

THE IDEAL Cleaner:

You will have experience of working in a previous cleaning role,  be reliable, able to work to high standards and have an eye for detail.

Ideally you will hold a Health and Safety or Cleaning qualification but this is not essential.
