SEND Support Worker

Brook Street Social Care are now working with clients who specialise in supporting SEND children in education settings.
This includes working with children 1:1 or in small groups, following their individual education plans (IEPs), and making the classroom a safe, welcoming, and engaging place to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help children with their learning and development as directed by the teacher and SENCo.
- Work with individual pupils or small groups to support their learning.
- Encourage pupils to join in with activities and build their confidence.
- Assist with pupils' physical or personal care needs (e.g., toileting, feeding).
- Build and maintain good relationships with parents and carers.
- Take part in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Follow school rules and policies, especially those about child safety and confidentiality
- Take part in training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEND
Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Competence in using educational technology and resources.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
