Our client is a leading Retail Group with locations across the UK and Channel Islands and are continuously growing. Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Controller to join the team supporting the Finance Director and working from their head office based in Guernsey.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Working closely with the Finance Director to drive the annual budgeting process to accordingly reflect the expected financial outcomes from the planned operational activities of the business. Be part of budgets and results whilst working with all stakeholders to build fantastic relationships across all departments.
With the support of you team also:
- Delivery and preparation of monthly management accounts and key financial reports
- Understanding and completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigating and explaining variances to budget
- Support with budget preparation
- Owning year-end accounting processes in preparation for statutory audit
- Active Involvement in the audit process
- Working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions to support the organisation.
- Treasury management - maximising payment terms and preserving cash.
- Support with monthly payroll
- Control of business systems, providing insight and challenge to fellow senior managers
- Management of an Accounts Assistant, which includes Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) providing guidance and support
- You may be required to undertake additional duties as required to promote the smooth and efficient running of the business.
- Ensure the alignment of annual budgets with those contained within the Company's approved multi-year strategy, aiming to deliver the agreed financial targets

Expereince and skills required:
- Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Excellent knowledge of management and financial accounting techniques with the capability to design and produce timely, accurate management reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Proven track record as a competent financial controller or group accountant, responsible for the management of the accounting function.
- Previous success with strengthening finance/business processes and predictable, goodquality forecasts and information.
- Strong appreciation of the effective use of IT in business.
- Sound knowledge of data protection legislation and its practical application.
- High-quality intellect, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to relate well with others, command respect, and have the personality to create and maintain an impact on the business
- Highly numerate, with the required technical ability, professional integrity, and personality to interpret and communicate financial information.
