EHS Manager - Aerospace Sector

Our client, a prominent player in the Aerospace and Manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced EHS Manager from a Manufacturing background to join them at their site in Bedhampton, which is part of The Fuel and Motion Control Systems (FMC). This position provides environmental, health, safety, and security support to the site.



Role overview:



This position ensures comprehensive adherence to environmental, health, safety, and security regulations at the site. You will be accountable for directing EHS activities, establishing objectives and targets, and reporting EHS performance. Other responsibilities include communicating regulatory requirements, maintaining certifications, managing crises, and developing a strong EHS culture across the site. Future responsibilities also include taking over Facilities management functions and achieving world-class standards in safety, quality, cost, output, regulatory compliance, and customer service.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct site in achieving EHS targets and objectives.
  • Facilitate risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
  • Determine indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.
  • Support creation of EHS goals for the site manager and leadership team.
  • Promote a zero-incident EHS culture throughout the site.
  • Create and facilitate EHS engagement through teams and committees.
  • Evaluate compliance with country, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Pursue third-party recognition for EHS programs.
  • Manage EHS data through established processes such as MESH Suite.
  • Create training matrices to ensure all training is defined and tracked.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in environmental, health, and safety program management and employee training.
  • Degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) recommended.
  • Understanding of industry and legal EHS requirements.
  • Strong team-building and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage varied interests and potential conflicts.
  • Readiness to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams.
