Project Engineer - Control Systems

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will provide technical support for a variety of control systems, including Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), Process Control Networks (PCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Electronic Systems (PLCs), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). This role also involves managing and maintaining software and logic solver backups.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot and provide technical support to maintenance and operations personnel for control systems and equipment.
* Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of Control and Instrument Systems (CIS) like PLCs, DCS, and ESD systems.
* Collaborate on developing conceptual or detailed in-house modifications for control systems hardware and software.
* Conduct root cause failure analysis and recommend solutions to prevent future occurrences.
* Manage assigned engineering queries, evaluate, and implement effective solutions to ensure closure.
* Participate actively in preparing and reviewing preventative maintenance strategies for control systems.
* Perform critical disaster recovery for control system equipment like PLCs and HMIs.
* Review spare parts specifications and participate in identifying obsolete spares for replacement.
* Demonstrate strong safety practices by conducting safety conversions and observations.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Control, or Instrument Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum Requirements:
* At least 8 years of experience in maintenance and engineering of control and instrument systems.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot and modify process and safety control systems.
* In-depth knowledge of PLC, SCADA/HMI control systems, hardware architecture, and application of instrumentation related standards, codes, and regulations.
* Understanding of instrument hook-up drawings, interfacing between DCS, PLC, and other systems (auxiliary plant, field instruments, control valves, analyzers).
* Working knowledge of plant HSE systems and procedures.
* Experience in preparing technical specifications and documents.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
