We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity at all times.

Person Profile

The capability to form meaningful relationships and attachments with adolescents is a necessary skill of a Residential Care Worker with the ability to communicate and engage with a variety of stakeholders. A Residential Care Worker must be able to demonstrate resilience and work effectively within a team, or independently as required. Applicants to the post should be reliable and trustworthy, with a good attendance record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each resident.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating recreational activities and outings.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment within the care facility.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and care standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualificatio
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
