As a part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sustainability Consultant to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of fostering a more sustainable future. We work on a variety of schemes particularly large residential lead schemes with commercial elements with developers such as Regal, Berkeley, Ardmore and Wates.

Purpose of the role:
Work with the Sustainability Director to develop the energy auditing services within, looking at stranded assets and opportunities to improve EPC ratings.
You join a forward-thinking team which works closely alongside the MEP engineers, you should be able to act on your own initiative and take a proactive role in the design team on large projects.
Looking for someone who has the drive and ambition to succeed in the company and potentially build the team in Birmingham.

Roles and responsibilities:
Sustainability
* Non-domestic energy assessor qualification with experience of using IES (or similar) for completing Part L energy modelling and EPCs, or happy to work towards this with internal training initially
* Producing calculations to support energy statements for Planning and BREEAM requirements
* Knowledge and experience of dynamic simulations against TM59 and Part O for overheating assessments and producing reports
* Familiar with the London Plan requirements and competent to complete energy reports.
* Energy audits of existing buildings, work with MEP teams to improve energy efficiency of buildings and EPC ratings
* Running and contributing to a wide range of projects and leading client meetings related to sustainability


3. Communication
* Ability to liaise concisely and professionally with external members of the design team and Client on Technical subjects by phone and email
* Attend client meetings and represent our sustainability, actively contributing to the design team
* Maintain regular progress conversations with Team Leader.
* Respond accurately, concisely and correctly to Design Team and Contractor queries as required

4. Requirements
* A science, engineering or building-related bachelor's degree and a building sustainability/energy related MSc is desirable
* An ability to communicate effectively, be client-facing and able to write concise and clear reports
* Have a good understanding of and interest in sustainable development issues as they relate to the built environment
* Site visits will be required - some travel - driving license not essential providing you are happy to use public transport
* Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business for at least 5 years
