The Offshore HSEA will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the project's contractors to ensure safe operations and regulatory compliance regarding Health, Safety & Environment (HSE). This role requires prior offshore construction experience, ideally within a project setting for an operator or multi-disciplinary contract company. The position operates on a 2-week on, 2-week off rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

HSE Performance:
  • Act as the primary contact for all HSE issues related to decommissioning removal operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, plans, and reports, both internal and external.
  • Provide HSE oversight during decommissioning operations.
  • Participate actively in all risk assessment discussions.
  • Implement the ‘Stop the Job’ policy when necessary.
  • Support safety meetings to communicate key HSE issues.
  • Ensure adherence to the Common Operations Notification (CON) and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) Matrix.
  • Maintain technical accuracy of controlled documents as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Supervise radiological work as the nominated Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS).
  • Organize the transportation, cleaning, or disposal of Low Specific Activity (LSA) contaminated equipment and maintain records.
  • Maintain records of chemical use and discharge.

Preferred Safety & Environmentally Critical Courses:
  • COSHH Assessor
  • Hand Arm Vibration Coordinator
  • Health and Safety Internal Auditor
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (Parts 1 & 2)
Experience/Qualifications Required:
  • Offshore Survival to OGUK Standard or recognized equivalent.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of external regulations, approved codes of practice, and all areas of HSE work on the platform (e.g., PUWER).
  • Experience in heavy lifts or similar construction-related offshore activities.
  • Previous offshore experience with a multi-disciplinary contract company.
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate (Diploma preferred).
  • Occupational Hygiene Qualifications in core modules such as Asbestos, COSHH, Noise, and Vibration (preferred but not essential).
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor qualification 
  • Environmental knowledge of UK legal requirements (preferred but not essential).
  • Skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and auditing.
  • Proficiency in reporting and presenting (written and verbal).

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to HSE issues, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in offshore construction and decommissioning projects.
