Primary Teaching Assistant

Position: Primary Teaching Assistant 

Location: Morley, Leeds

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent 

Start Date: September 2024 

PK Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and welcoming primary school in Morley. This full-time position offers a temporary to permanent opportunity, with roles available across EYFS to KS2, depending on the candidate's skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

- Uphold and support the ethos, vision, and values of the school, adhering to all policies and procedures.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.

- Show a willingness to pursue and enhance qualifications and training for personal and professional development.

- Provide a supportive and welcoming presence in the classroom, fostering positive working relationships with parents.

- Understand how children learn and take initiative to meet the individual needs of students.

- Assist the class teacher and other professionals in developing and delivering engaging educational activities.

- Participate actively in the extra-curricular life of the school, contributing to a vibrant school community.

- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.

- Exhibit patience, calmness, and the ability to listen and value children's perspectives.

Ideal Candidate:

- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally primary education.

- A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting children's learning and development.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.

- Flexibility to work across different year groups and adapt to varying needs.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in children's lives.

- Intervention experience is highly beneficial i.e. Phonics, Speech and Language.
