CAD Engineer Automotive VR - £25.53/hr (Inside IR35) - Hybrid / Warwickshire - 8 Months (potential to extend)

Position Description:
Our automotive client is seeking a passionate and innovative engineer to join their team of visualisation specialists. The team work closely with Human Factors subject experts, package and creative teams, to develop bespoke XR capabilities, used extensively in the engineering of vehicles to ensure collaborative and efficient delivery of excellent ergonomics and a modern luxury customer experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and supporting immersive XR reviews, user trials and desktop visualisation studies, using our Unreal Engine toolset. They will be expected to manage changes to scope, schedule, and requirements, ensuring deadlines are met. Working collaboratively, they will lead cross functional work streams, adapting to challenges and negotiating with stakeholders where appropriate.

They will also be required to prepare 3D geometry for both desktop and immersive review following data preparation process, as well as set up XR equipment, tracking systems and seating rigs as required.

This role is ideally suited to a skilled CAD engineer, with an interest in XR technologies, who can work closely and effectively with internal engineering customers to deliver a high-quality visualisation service.

Skills Required:
- Proven ability to work in a demanding environment and combine interpersonal skills with technical decision-making
- Experience using an industry CAD toolset
- An understanding of and interest in the use of immersive/XR technologies in automotive development

Experience Required:
- Experience in customer and stakeholder interactions and negotiations, ability to clearly convey complex ideas, and comfortable communicating at different levels
- Skills in CAD/data manipulation tools (e.g., CATIA, Viz Mockup, DeltaGen)
- Project management skills with effective time management and facility planning
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, software or related scientific field

Experience Preferred:
- Familiarity with Jira / Atlassian toolset and agile methodology
- Experience working with AR/VR/XR technologies
- Experience in Catia V5/6
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine / Game engines
- Understanding of source control, particularly GIT

Additional Information:
This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.
Hybrid working: Expected working pattern is 3 days in the office, 2 days wfh, plus being onsite when specific onsite reviews are necessary.
