Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs, we would love to hear from you.

You will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment that meets each student's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs if required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN-specific training) are advantageous but not essential.
