Our client is a family run Care Company, who look after more than 1,500 residents across the UK, are recruiting for a CHEF to join their team in two of their homes, one being based in Suffolk, the other in Norfolk.  Driving would be advantageous to you due to the locations of the homes.  

The role is initially 24hours a week to include alternative weekends in your rota. You will report directly to the Home Manager.  

As a Chef, you are responsible for the planning & provision of the daily nutritious meals for the residents, you will have the responsibility to ensure that the food you purchase is fresh and remain within the budget given. You will have strong Health, Safety & Environmental standards, as you are expected to always maintain these.  

Required Skills 

• Proven experience as a Chef. Ideally within a healthcare or hospitality setting 

• Excellent cooking skills, with knowledge of different cooking techniques 

• A STRONG knowledge of nutrition & the ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements.  

• You must have strong communication & interpersonal skills 

• Be able to manage your own time effectively, especially when working under pressure 

• Must have a strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations & procedures 

• You will have the ability to train and manage kitchen staff 

• Must be willing to be flexible with your hours as weekends are required 

• MUST Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate - & be willing to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications  

• First Aid Certificate  

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation / Catering
