Location: Wolverhampton

Pay Rate: £50.00 per hour Umbrella

Duration: 6 Months - Possibility of extension

Hours: 37 hours per week - Mon to Thur, 08.00am - 16.45pm / Fri 08.00am - 12.00pm

Working Pattern: Site based preferable but hybrid will be considered - Minimum of on site 3 days per week.

Are you an experienced Design Engineer looking for your next opportunity? Adecco are recruiting to work on site with our client Collins, a leading engineering organisation based in Wolverhampton. An exciting opening for a talented Design Engineer to join their dynamic Aftermarket engineering team. This is an excellent chance to showcase your design skills and contribute to the ongoing success of our client's organisation.

As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing detailed design support and ensuring the design integrity of products within the Aftermarket engineering team. You will be responsible for delivering design support for in-service products, handling customer requests, troubleshooting, repair schemes, and processing Engineering Change Requests. Your commitment to quality design deliverables, adherence to procedures, and your knowledge of aircraft actuation equipment will be instrumental in driving the success of our client's projects.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Reviewing a wide range of actuation systems design data, such as hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, or mechanical elements.
  • Providing design support through Aftermarket processes, including MRO support and update to repair and maintenance data.
  • Ensuring adherence to the design process while meeting timescale requirements.
  • Processing Engineering Change Requests and producing relevant design documentation.
  • Collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Delivering high-quality data packages and drawings.
  • Ensuring the product design meets customer and regulatory authority requirements.
  • Implementing design engineering procedures and work instructions in a consistent and rigorous manner.

To excel in this position, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Logical approach to technical problem resolution and decision making.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate, with familiarity in general PC software.

Essential requirements for this role:

  • Experienced CAD user, preferably CATIA.
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM system.
  • Strong engineering background with knowledge of machine design, electro-hydraulic, and/or electro-mechanical equipment product configurations.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Familiarity with aerospace actuation systems and associated requirements.
  • Degree or engineering equivalent with appropriate experience, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
