Quality Assurance Technician

Salary: Up to £30k per annum

Quality Assurance Technician Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for driving quality culture on-site and ensuring compliance with the Quality Manual. The Quality Assurance Technician will provide technical support to enable factory areas to meet food safety and GMP standards. This Quality Assurance Technician role is essential for continuous improvement across all departments.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:
- Drive high standards of GMP within areas of responsibility, ensuring close-out of any issues related to GMP or audit failures.
- Ensure procedures forming the Quality System are followed, and products meet legal requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Support all trials online, contributing towards setting appropriate quality standards and QAS.
- Work with all departments to investigate failures and customer complaints, assisting in problem-solving and promoting sustainable solutions.
- Establish good internal relationships with relevant departments and colleagues.
- Carry out internal audits throughout the year against the internal audit schedule.
- Cover for holidays and sickness within the QC Team.
- Conduct weekly/monthly calibrations and GF testing on the line.
- Drive continuous improvement of all internal processes, e.g., non-conformance, failure, concession, traceability.
- Support the development of a quality culture and lead by example in corrective and preventive action planning and delivery.

Qualifications and Skills Required for the Quality Assurance Technician:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a production or quality role within a manufacturing business, ideally in food manufacturing.
- Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Level 2 HACCP - Desirable. 
- Excellent communication skills for confident and professional liaison with internal and external customers.
- Influencing and negotiation skills to ensure a 'right first time' approach.
- Determination to see tasks through to the end and challenge barriers.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
- Proficient in Tropos, Excel, and Word.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Internal auditing qualification or experience.

Desirable Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Technician:
- Experience working in a Quality role within UK retailers.
- Understanding of customer Codes of Practice, specific certification requirements, e.g., RSPO, HALAL, BRCGS.

Working Conditions for the Quality Assurance Technician:
- Rotating shifts: 6-2 / 2-10.
- Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum - plus 20% shift allowance. 

Interview Process for the Quality Assurance Technician:
1. First stage: conducted via Teams or on-site.
2. Second stage: On site
