This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned and meticulous Demand Planner to join our clients Operations Team. The successful candidate will lead and enhance the current supply chain and logistics functions, playing a vital role in forecasting, planning, and managing inventory levels. The primary goal is to ensure optimal product coverage while minimizing excess stock and associated costs.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Demand Planner will be integral to the team, leveraging historical sales data, promotional activity uplift, forecast accuracy performance, and business targets. This role involves challenging assumptions through clear analysis and rationale to ensure precise SKU forecasting. Additionally, the planner will develop and optimize working methods and contribute to both local and global Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) processes. The planner will ensure that all demand forecasting and S&OP activities are completed for all products, collaborating with Commercial and Marketing teams to influence demand and develop unbiased forecasts over a 24-month horizon.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining IBP master data, driving improved system workflows, and leading the S&OP process. This includes presenting demand consensus, identifying gaps between demand and financial forecasts, and aligning risks and opportunities. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel are essential, along with experience in planning or analyst roles focused on S&OP. Knowledge of SAP (IBP, APO, ERP) is required, along with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Experience in the FMCG sector is desirable. The role demands the execution of a detailed schedule of activities within the S&OP cycle to ensure on-time and full dispatch to customers.
