Rapier Employment Ltd is currently hiring a skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver/ Mates for our client in Newquay, Cornwall.
Ongoing contract
Early 6 AM start
Routes are double manned with Driver and Mate.
Full training provided.
This role pays as follows:
7.5 Tonne Driver
Basic - £13.68
Overtime - £20.52
Driver’s Mates
Basic - £11.66
Overtime -£17.49
The ideal driver candidate will have a valid 7.5 tonne license, relevant experience in driving heavy goods vehicles, and a good understanding of safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements:
- Drivers must hold a full 7.5 tonne licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- No more than 6 penalty points on licence and no major endorsement codes.
- Have an in-date Tacho and CPC Card.
- A passion for delivering great customer service.
- The ability to handle heavy stock.
Responsibilities for 7.5 Tonne Drivers:
- Drive a 7.5 Tonne vehicle to transport goods to and from different locations
- Delivering goods for a well-known retail distribution company – anything from flat packs to fridges
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including delivering goods in a courteous and professional manner.
- Follow to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities for Driver’s Mates:
- Assist the Driver, help with navigation and route planning.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods.
- Help with delivery documentation and receipts, and ensure cargo is properly secured.
- Operate lifting and moving equipment as needed.
- Assist in basic vehicle checks and maintenance and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
