Buyer with raw material experience - our client in Sheffield is recruiting a Raw Materials Buyer to specialise within this area of their procurement team. The main focus of this role is to strategically procure the highest quality products, ensuring they meet company specifications, will meet order volumes, and are acquired at the best possible value to maximize forecasted margins. Joining this business will allow an accomplished Buyer to play a pivotal role in driving financial success through smart, efficient, and impactful purchasing decisions.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Working closely with the production team and other key stakeholders to ensure supply meets demand
• Build & develop strong supplier relationships, working closely in partnership to minimise supply chain risk. 
• Meet with suppliers to investigate their processes and further cement relationships
• Identify opportunities to bring on new suppliers and/or products
• Monitor and keep a log of performance data to inform decisions in the supply chain
• Work closely with internal stakeholders when exploring new product introductions
• Supporting the Finance team in forecasting cashflow and assets
• Have input into the procurement system and strategy

To be successful in your application you must have previous experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment; and if not purchasing raw materials then some exposure to and understanding of raw material procurement. Ideally experience working with tradeable commodities 

We're looking for someone numerate, with strong relationship-building skills, able to work closely as an internal team as well as fostering productive relationships with suppliers.
