PR and Communications Coordinator

The PR and Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing effective internal and external communications and content to support company business objectives. Success in this role is determined by the ability to create engaging content, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and demonstrate the impact of PR and communication efforts through measurable results.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
PR:
- Participate in quarterly meetings to stay updated on key development milestones for PR planning.
- Serve as the primary contact for the PR agency, coordinating regular calls, PR schedules, and bi-monthly marketing/communications meetings.
- Brief the PR agency to assist with communications campaigns, sales launch communications planning, and events.
- Provide the PR agency with necessary information for upcoming press releases, including sales brochures and design statements.
- Coordinate the drafting, editing, and approval of press releases with relevant colleagues, stakeholders, clients, and partners.
- Draft quotes to support press opportunities, including partner press releases and journalist requests.
- Support project teams at press events and broadcast opportunities.
- Maintain the PR coverage database.
External Communications:
- Assist the Digital Communications & Content Executive by drafting blog posts and webpage copy for company websites and social channels.
- Coordinate the production of communications collateral, including development brochures and PR-led initiatives, using InDesign for branded materials.
- Brief and support agencies in writing, designing, and producing award submissions, ensuring criteria and deadlines are met.
- Research information to meet all awards criteria.
- Write award entries and produce final submissions in InDesign, if applicable.
- Assist with post-submission assessments, including coordinating judges' site visits and presentations.
Internal Communications:
- Support the Internal Communications & Events Executive with internal communications and engagement activities, including writing and creating content for various media including but not limited to Posters, Newsletters, Quarterly staff magazine and intranet blogs
Key Internal/External Relationships:
- Internal: Communications, Marketing, Sales, Social Value, HR, HSE, Quality, and project teams
- External: PR consultants, designers, photographers, client/partner communications, third-party agencies, journalists
Team:
- Assist with and attend corporate events as needed.
- Foster collaboration within the team and department to align and optimise corporate and sales-led PR activities.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistent use of correct branding and adherence to guidelines throughout the business.
- Support the Head of Communications and Communications Team with other projects as needed.
Success Measures:
- Producing accurate, high-quality content that communicates key messages and engages target audiences.
- Timely and accurate delivery of press releases.
- High-quality copywriting for quotes and statements.
- Increased engagement and participation in blog features.
- Meeting all awards criteria and successfully highlighting company achievements, with submissions made on time.
- Consistently communicating the company brand identity across owned channels.
