Sewell Wallis are working with a growing SME who are going through an exciting period right now in opening their fifth site. This is a crucial part of the business which will require a committed, Head of Finance, to join the team to keep all their finance in check.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take that next step in their career to become the No. 1 in finance. Here you will work closely with Senior Board Members and Directors of the business and be a key part of decision-making for the finance function.

This person will also be managing a small finance team whom they will mentor and work closely with in delegating tasks to support the business and their multiple sites.

What you will be doing:

  • Year-end financial accounts, liaising with the external auditors
  • Implementing and testing accounting controls and procedures
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Preparing and processing payroll (using Sage pay), PAYE and pension contributions
  • Working closely with senior board members and directors of the business
  • Petty cash management and audit
  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Mentoring junior finance professionals

What skills we are looking for:

  • Sage and Sage Pay Payroll experience
  • Ability to manage and mentor a small finance team
  • Part-Qualified or Qualified
  • Experience performing year-end accounts
  • Experience in preparing all of the management accounts
