LTF Recruitment are looking for a passionate and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support the educational and developmental needs of students with complex learning and behaviour difficulties in a primary school. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each child receives the tailored support they require to succeed academically and socially. The position is based in Brixton, Lambeth

Daily responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group support to students with complex needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment. (SEN)
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's needs.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers to adapt lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Support students in developing social, communication, and life skills.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
• Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with complex needs in a primary school environment.
• A relevant qualification in special education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare).
• Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioural disorders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
