The Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager are as follows:
- Execute industrialization activities during the NPI phase to ensure manufacturability.
- Maintain and improve industrial means and tooling to support productivity and quality.
- Coordinate process capability activities to drive improvement.
- Develop capable processes and standard work within production areas.
- Research and propose innovative technologies (e.g., Robotics/Cobotics/IoT). Propose mid-term and long-term production system evolutions favouring operational excellence and productivity gains through Lean principles.
- Define, plan, and execute productivity projects to meet annual targets.
- Deploy Lean principles pragmatically for sustainable productivity gains.
- Provide regular and accurate operational status and forecasts.
- Manage the Manufacturing Engineering team, setting objectives and controlling achievements.
- Assist in planning and executing Cost of Non Quality (CNQ) actions to reduce costs and improve quality.
- Support the Zero Defects initiative in compliance with APQP standards.
The successful Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have the following skills / experience:
- Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline / equivalent experience
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong business acumen and experience in deploying Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Proven track record in leading change and managing teams.
- Technical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and reliable with strong integrity.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Business and results-oriented, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Dynamic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
