Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an independent and chartered planning and development consultancy on the hire of a Town Planner to their team in Edinburgh.

Our client has been established for over 12 years and helps to deliver a wide variety of development projects across the UK. In this role, you will work on projects in the housing, commercial, retail, leisure, tourism, renewables, health, education, rural and heritage sectors.

Joining an experienced and balanced team you will help to provide the following services to your client base;

• Town Planning Guidance
• Planning Strategy & Development & Development Appraisal
• Planning Applications
• Planning Appeals / Expert Witness
• Development Plan Representations
• Project Management
• Public Sector Studies and Research
• Community Engagement

Qualifications & Experience Required

• An RTPI accredited degree and/or Masters in a related discipline
• MRTPI or working towards it
• Work experience commensurate to a Planner level
• Good communication skills
• Good client liaison skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Project management skills
• Strong report writing skills
• Understanding of the Scottish planning system
