Acorn by Synergie is working with a major client who is a leading provider of transport and logistic solutions. They are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Transport Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the transport department. This role requires an individual with significant experience in transport management and a CPC. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all transport regulations, optimise fleet performance, and lead a team to deliver exceptional service standards.

Key responsibilities:

Operational Management

- Oversee the daily operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery

- Develop and implement operational policies to enhance efficiency and safety.

- Coordinate and manage the scheduling and dispatch of the fleet along with the transport team.

Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, including health and safety, environmental policies, and legal requirements.

- Maintain up to date knowledge of transport legislation and ensure the companies operations adhere to all legal standards.

Fleet Management

- Monitor and optimise the performance of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are well maintained and service schedules are adhered to.

- Implement cost- effective strategies for fleet utilisation and fuel management.

Team Leadership

- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers and office staff.

- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and support the professional development of the department.

- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Customer Service

- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained, addressing any issues or complaints promptly and effectively.

- Work closely with customers to build and maintain business relationships.

Financial Management

- Manage the transport budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency

- Monitor and report on key performance indicators in weekly operations meetings.

The right person will need to have the following Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience in transport management

- Holder of a CPC in road haulage

- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements

- Excellent organisational and leadership skills

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
