The selected candidate will be a member of Recurrent Energy’s Global Finance team reporting to the Global O&M Senior Manager. This role will be responsible for the accounting in Italy, UK and South Africa and relationship management, preparing and coordinating financial audits, preparing monthly closing reporting and review the accounting entries and taking care of all accounting related duties. The individual in this role will report to the Senior Manager of Global O&M Accounting.

Responsibilities:

Lead month-end closing process and assist in preparing the monthly reporting

Ensure financial reporting compliance with Group's policies and reporting standards (US GAAP, UK GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards – IFRS).

Manage and train the existing finance personnel (2 direct reports) and coordinate/ communicate on a regular basis with the external local finance teams of UK and Italy.

Supervise intercompany activities, maintaining the accuracy of intercompany loans\related party balances and transactions across the Group

Implement updates as required by any changes to the relevant accounting standards

Review accounting functions such as expenses, monthly cycle count preparation, analysis, posting, and reporting

Review/ Perform AR & AP processing in a timely manner

Review/ Perform reconciliation with both inter-company and 3rd party vendors and service providers

Review/ Perform vendor/contract files maintenance and prepare and process payments to vendors and employee reimbursements

Verify, analyze, investigate and resolve payable invoice discrepancies

Correspond with vendors and respond to enquiries

Assist in preparing both the statutory & management reports

Ad hoc analysis (transaction and acquisition, finance due diligence, financial model reviews, etc.)

Assist with questions from Tax, Project Finance and the business.

Help co-ordinate the tax fillings and assist annual audit

Treasury:

Maintain and monitor sufficient liquidity to meet internal requirements,

Payment processing, ensuring deadlines are met;

Bank accounts management;

Interest charges optimization.

Bring and drive innovative ideas, find creative solutions to tough problems and help us evolve on the automatization side.

Budgeting and Control

Budget, Mid term Plan and monthly forecast preparation;

Preparing bespoke financial analysis;

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in similar role with team leading and people management experience.

Experience is US GAAP reporting, UK GAAP + IFRS knowledge and with knowledge of ERP systems (SAP and HFM experience is a plus)

High level of English is mandatory. Any other additional language would be a plus. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze high volumes of data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher level overview.

Group consolidations and/or multinational exposure (from industry direct) will be beneficial

Deep finance and controlling experience along with strong business acumen and understanding of global market

People management skills along with the ability to deal with people tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Ability to drive ideas and behaviors and lead the way of developing collective efficiency

Corporation tax and VAT knowledge

SOX experience desirable

Demonstrated ability to perform related functions in adherence to regulations, laws, policies, and standards

Education & Training:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline

Minimum of 3 year of relevant work experience along with people management experience.

Knowledge of renewable energy and project assets is a plus.

Work location:

Permanently based in Colchester, Essex.
