Tradewind are currently looking to recruit Year 1 teacher who wants to work on a part-time basis and make a strong impact to a small group of pupils not meeting age related expectations. The role will commence September 2024 on a part-time basis which will be mornings only with the opportunity to teach a whole day too within the week. The successful applicant will play an instrumental role in accelerating the progress of a small number of pupils with high SEND needs and through effective intervention and tailored support, offers a very attractive and rewarding role!

About the Role

As the Year 1 intervention teacher, you will be accountable for the learning and attainment of approximately 6 children with high SEND needs. This children required individualised support tailored to their unique needs to ensure that learning is accessible and they can achieve great progress. Most of the group are working below age related expectations so this role would be ideal for an EYFS/KS1 teacher and the school will pay an attractive salary of up to M6 (pro rata) with a conversation for more for the right candidate on UPS.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have experience in Early Years/KS1 and enjoy delivering phonics to support reading and writing development
  • Be willing to plan successful lessons for the small group of children to drive progress across different area of the curriculum with a focus mainly on literacy and numberacy.
  • Familiarity with the Floppy phonics scheme (or similar) and the willingness to use supplemental resources where appropriate
  • Be able to model learning well and cater towards visual, audio and kinaesthetic preferences
  • Be a reflective practitioner who will assess, record and report on pupil performance in addition to monitoring social and emotional wellbeing.

Essential Requirements:

  • You must hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
