Excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join a reputable retail brand overseeing a portfolio of retail stores and warehouses across the UK.

Client Details

A highly reputable retail brand are seeking a Group Health & Safety Manager to oversee a portfolio of circa 30 properties across the UK consisting of retail stores and warehousing. The role is based out of their Bristol head office and will require occasional travel to sites across the UK to carry out audits/inspections.

Description

The H&S Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the health and safety programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, reduce risk, and enhance the overall safety and environmental performance of the organisation. They will work collaboratively with various departments to promote a culture of continuous improvement in H&S practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Leading the coordination of H&S governance and compliance in the UK&I group
  • Promoting a strong H&S culture across the group
  • Delivering the H&S Strategy within the UK&I group
  • Identifying operational risks and opportunities for improvement and working with colleagues to ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant H&S laws, standards, and regulations
  • Ensuring risk assessments are regularly reviewed and identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement
  • Manage and maintain company H&S / ISO accreditations and award
  • Liaising with external stakeholders and consultants as and when required, including but not limited to the HSE and other regulatory bodies
  • Engaging stakeholders across all UK&I sites and conducting regular audits
  • Prepare and manage an annual budget

Profile

  • Experience overseeing multi site Health & Safety ideally within a retail / distribution environment.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Professional memberships to a relevant body (CMIOSH)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Able to communicate to all key stakeholders include board members / Senior Leadership Team
  • Experience delivering H&S strategy to a large organisation
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Good knowledge of ISO accreditations
  • Lead auditors qualification (desirable)
