Financial Assessment & Benefit Officer

About the Role

Bristol City Council are seeking a Financial Assessment & Benefit Officer (Fab Officer) to carry out financial assessments for clients who receive support from Adult Social Care. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills as you will be dealing directly with service users and/or their agents. You will be carrying out the assessment on-line or over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out financial assessments for clients in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and Bristol City Council financial regulations
  • Reviewing the financial assessments of clients who have not been reviewed for 2 years or more
  • Using Controcc to carry out the assessment and Infomation@work to save documents if needed
  • Provision of expertise, information, advice and guidance to Carers, Clients and members of the general public on these specialist area of activity

Requirements

  • Experience of adult social care finance
  • Experience in finance particularly supporting service users to complete financial assessments and forms and benefit claims
  • BTEC in Business and Finance or Competency equivalent to level 3 NVQ in Business and Finance or experience that demonstrates an equivalent acquisition of knowledge or equivalent qualification

Working Arrangements

This company offers hybrid working, with many of the team working full time from home. However, office space is available in Bristol City Centre.
