We are looking for an individual who is able to perform the role of a 'Head of Sustainability'. It is key that the individual has the ability to deliver our clients business plan, lead and develop new business and manage a team. The overall goal is to develop and improve our clients existing sustainability offering.

The Company:
Our client have an excellent and growing reputation in the area of sustainability and provision of low carbon advice, predominantly within the Housing Sector, but increasingly within Education and Blue light.

They are now looking for a sustainability lead who can contribute to and write thought pieces and develop business strategies. We would like to see the successful individual lead and grow the team and work closely with other parts of the business, specifically the PAS 2035 qualified professional (including Building Surveys, Architects and Services Engineers) in all three offices.


Core Skills Required:
* Energy modelling using IES software
* Undertake Thermal comfort (overheating) analysis to CIBSE TM52, TM59 and TM49, and Part O
* Undertake Part L compliance analysis (SAP and SBEM assessor)
* Operational energy TM54 calculations
* Develop Energy and Low Zero Carbon Strategy reports
* Develop Sustainability Statements
* Undertake Energy Performance Certificates
* Full SAP modelling

Desirable but not essential:
* Undertake Thermal Bridging calculations (Physibel software)
* Undertake Condensation risk analysis
* Develop Retrofit strategies / PAS 2035 feasibility reports
* Understanding of PAS 2038
* Undertake low carbon energy assessments
* Undertake Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) assessments
* Undertake Commercial EPCs
* Undertake Display Energy Certificates (DEC)
* Whole Life Cycle and Life Cycle Costing
* Undertake energy surveys on existing buildings
* Undertake Daylight & Sunlight assessments (BRE)
* BREEAM Assessor(preferably commercial)
* Member of CIBSE/IEMA/EI
* SAP and SBEM assessor
* Competent with IES

Soft Skills - Internal
* Ability to manage a team including resource reviews. Be responsible for other
members of staff, co-ordinating their workload and ensuring their tasks and duties
are carried out in accordance with Practice procedures.
* Provide project support in relevant skill to other as part of a multi-skilled team.
* Undertake audit and review projects for accuracy and technical compliance
* Able to provide feedback and create development plans with Junior, Intermediate and
Senior Sustainability Consultants based on performance criteria and against job
description. Able to undertake 1:1sm review meetings and create development plans
with Junior, Intermediate and Senior Sustainability Consultants. Able to show
mentoring proficiency and able to praise staff members.
* Able to prepare project commissioning documentation, briefing documents,
appointment documents, develop delivery programmes and fee proposals.
